Homer Huddleston, N5UN (formerly W5TLW) died on January 12, 1998. Homer was originally from Wichita Falls, Texas and at the time of his death lived in Plano, Texas. He is survived by a son and daughter.

Homer graduated from Southern Methodist University with a batchelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's degree in business. Later he was on the honorary boards of both the Business and Engineering Schools at SMU. Homer started his professional career with Motorola, rising to the level of Vice-President, and then was the Director of the Fort Worth, Texas Motorola manufacturing facility. Later he was President of Plantronics Action and then vice-President of Honeywell before joining American Airlines as Vice-President of Communicatioons for the Sabre Division. After retiring from American Airlines, he was Executive Vice-President of Network Operations at Pagemart (now Weblink Wireless), and was responsible for the original implementation of that company's two-way messaging systems.

Homer was a long-time fixture on VHF and UHF in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and was also very active on 6 meter FM and HF. He enjoyed going to the Dayton Hamvention every year with the DFW "contingent".

I'm proud to have known Homer and proud to have recently been assigned his call.
