Arlene Mae Ellis, 62, passed away Tuesday Jan. 27, 2004, in Kingman. She was born July 17, 1941, in Pitcrain, NY to William and Margaret LaCross Phillips. She graduated from Harrisville High School in 1960. After residing in Southern California and Farmington, NM., she and her husband moved to Kingman.

Arlene joined TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) in Ventura, CA. in 1976 and transferred to the Kingman Chapter (AZ#287) in 1988. There she became a leader as well as the treasurer. She was a licensed Amateur Radio Operator with the call sign WD6ASB and a member of the Hualapai Amateur Radio Club. She was an avid bingo player at all of the local service clubs. She is survived by; her husband of 43 years, Charles B. Ellis; her daughter and son-in-law, MaryAnn and Russell Skals; son Charles B. Ellis III; her granddaughters, Tiffany Skals, Caity Skals, Amber Henderson and Lacey Council; her grandsons, Jake Ellis, Taylor Council, Russell Skals Jr., Brandon Skals and her great granddaughter Brianna Skals; her mother, Margaret Phillips; brothers Jim, Jerry, Donny, Jack and Larry Phillips all of Harrisville, NY. Services were held at St. Johns United Methodist Church on Monday Feb. 2 at 11 a.m., a reception followed. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Kingman Cancer Care Unit Kingman Regional Medical Center, Hualapai Amateur Radio Club, TOPS.
